Neiman Marcus, Inc. reported revenues in May rose 9.2% to $307 million from $281 million, with comparable stores ahead 6.6%.

All figures have been adjusted to exclude the revenues of Gurwitch Products, L.L.C. and Kate Spade LLC.

In the four-week May period, comparable revenues in the Specialty Retail Stores segment, which includes Neiman Marcus stores and Bergdorf Goodman, increased 7.7%. Revenue growth trends were the strongest in the company’s stores in the Southeast, Midwest and New York City. The merchandise categories in the Specialty Retail Stores segment that performed the strongest included designer handbags, precious jewelry, shoes, women’s contemporary sportswear and designer apparel and men’s.

Comparable revenues at Neiman Marcus Direct in the four-week May period increased 0.2 percent. The top selling merchandise categories in the Direct Marketing segment included women’s contemporary sportswear and designer apparel, designer shoes and handbags, jewelry and men’s.
