The Neiman Marcus Group announced preliminary company-wide revenues for August 2005 were $255 million compared to $239 million, an increase of 6.5%. Comparable store sales increased 8.2%.

Comparable revenues for the four weeks ended August 28, 2004 exclude the sales of Chef's Catalog prior to its disposition in November 2004.

In the four-week August period, comparable revenues in the Specialty Retail Stores segment, which includes Neiman Marcus Stores and Bergdorf Goodman, increased 8.7 percent. Revenue growth trends were the strongest in the Company's stores in the West and Midwest. The merchandise categories in the Specialty Retail Stores segment that performed the strongest included women's fine apparel and contemporary sportswear, jewelry, designer handbags and men's.

Comparable revenues at Neiman Marcus Direct in the four-week August period increased 8.4 percent. The top selling merchandise categories in the Direct Marketing segment included women's shoes and apparel, designer handbags, jewelry and men's.
