Nautilus laid off about 30 people across the company in an effort to move “decision-making closer to the customer,” according to the Oregonian.

The cuts occurred in departments across the exercise manufacturer's operations, although spokesman Ron Arp declined to specify which areas. He said not all the layoffs were in Vancouver, but refused to say how many.

“I can tell you we made some minor refinements to our organizational structure,” he said, “and we're doing it to move our business ever closer to the customer.”

He declined to comment on how the cuts help the company become more customer-centric. Nautilus employs about 1,500 people.
