Meet the newest member of the National Ski Patrol (NSP), Al Pine™, a Fisher-Price ® Rescue Heroes™ toy inspired by patrollers and their heroic rescue deeds. Al Pine is an accomplished skier and snowboarder, traveling the slopes in search of stranded skiers, snowboarders and avalanche victims, ready to free them with his ice pick. Al also comes equipped with a state-of-the-art snowboard. A portion of the profits from each Al Pine toy sold helps support the National Ski Patrol.

“Being part of Rescue Heroes team, National Ski Patrol Al Pine reinforces the message to children that being smart and working as a team is what being a hero is all about,” said Chris Pardi, Marketing Director at Fisher-Price. “Because of the National Ski Patrol’s positive message, as well as its contributions to safety and emergency care programs, a partnership seemed natural.”

The Rescue Heroes are a team of real-life, action figure heroes like firefighters, police officers, construction worker and paramedics who provide positive role models for kids. They're mantra is: “No One Gets Left Behind!” Rescue Heroes give children heroic, inspirational role models that parents can feel good about. For kids, ages 3 and older, Rescue Heroes are “cool guys who are good guys.”

“The National Ski Patrol Al Pine Rescue Hero is a great way for our organization to reach out to the general public beyond skiers and snowboarders,” said NSP Executive Director Stephen Over. “This role model will help deliver a positive message about our sport and profession to a new audience that may one day translate into new riders, as well as new NSP members. Plus, we keep company with some pretty cool characters.”
