Nathan, which makes hydration, visibility, and essential performance gear, has hired Adam Karl as the brand’s newest junior industrial designer.


Karl will support the hard goods product group by designing and developing new and inventive hydration and visibility solutions to help athletes run stronger and longer. 

With a superior graphic design portfolio, Karl is known for his originality in concept development and execution. He will help maximize innovation, functionality and aesthetics for Nathan’s hard goods category in order for the brand to be even more competitive within the specialty running market. To accomplish this, Karl will lead the development process, from inspired product ideation to design concept and commercialization of LED lighting and other new product categories.

Karl has extensive background in the design profession, having held roles at top creative agencies including RAM Industrial Design Firm, JDK Design, Cote d’OR Swimwear and various Telluride-based businesses. Karl was the founding partner of design collective, DAP & Co. in Syracuse, NY, where he led design production, new business development and financial planning. Other successes include serving as designer for the 2013 Fashion Week Chaco footwear collection, as well as design consultant for brands such as the Boston Children’s Hospital, Merrell Footwear and Beats by Dre.
 

Karl hails from Syracuse University, where he received Bachelor’s degrees from the College of Visual Performing Arts in industrial and interaction design and the Martin J. Whitman School of Management for marketing.


Nathan distributes through specialty running shops, sporting goods and outdoor stores nationwide.
