Nathan, the maker of hydration, visibility, and performance gear accessories, hired Kevin Kelly as its first tech rep, as well as a comprehensive website redesign.

Combined, these two initiatives give Nathan’s retail partners and customers unprecedented access to the brand’s resources and Running Essentials™ products, engineered to help competitive athletes and active consumers alike run stronger and longer.

A leader in its industry, Nathan is known for its emphasis on building strong retailer partnerships. The brand provides unmatched marketing support, in-store resources and educational platforms to help specialty retailers grow their business and retain customers.

Kelly – an avid athlete and former star placekicker for Penn State University – will support Nathan’s east coast retailers as a key resource for those trying to grow the essentials category as a whole. Via in-store clinics, events and other educational initiatives, Kelly will provide retailers with assets to highlight the benefits and features of Nathan’s products, in conjunction with the importance of hydration, visibility and individualized performance gear.

With a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Penn State, Kelly has a comprehensive understanding of how the right products and knowledge are critical to performance. As a former student athlete, Kelly is the all-time leading scorer for kicking in Big Ten football history. He remains a fitness enthusiast, an avid runner and CrossFit participant.

“Sports and fitness have always been a large part of my life and I have admired the products that Nathan develops. My enthusiasm for running provides an excellent knowledge base for me to help extend the reach of the brand,” said Kevin Kelly, Tech Rep for Nathan. “The chance to support retailers and help drive growth of the essentials category is one I am thrilled to have.”

From first-time runners and weekend warriors to triathletes and ultrarunners, Nathan’s products – hydration and reflective vests, running paks, hydration bottles, belts, visibility solutions and much more – are the foundation of a life in motion. Now, the brand has redesigned its website (www.NathanSports.com) with a sleek new look and innovative features to give runners a platform to help push their potential. Athletes of all levels can find products more quickly and easily, and will have more access to information and resources than ever before.

The revamped site includes:
·         Nathan U – An online forum that provides visitors with educational downloads, information and video tutorials that cover running safety and tips to help runners of all skill level avoid injury, recover faster and perform better. Topics are broken out by product categories: Visibility 101, Hydration 101 and Gear 101.
·         Nathan Blog – The brand has created a new avenue for staff, athletes and partners to discuss industry topics, tips and advice for everything from training and competing to recovering and gear suggestions. Via the blog, athletes will also share their stories and motivation with the community.

“We constantly challenge ourselves to do more for our retailers and customers, and through the revitalized website and the addition of Kevin Kelly, we’re excited to do just that,” said Brent Hollowell, VP of marketing for Nathan. “Our team is passionate not only about this brand, but about the industry as a whole, and we’re committed to providing the means to drive the growth of our partners and the sport of running.”

Nathan’s latest product developments and successes have driven substantial growth within the company. Nathan expanded into Japan this month, and its products are now available in 45 countries. To commemorate this achievement, the brand recently hosted its first international sales meeting in Amsterdam. The meeting brought together representatives from all countries to share success stories, receive the latest updates and information from the company and build camaraderie among attendees from around the world.

Nathan products are available at specialty running shops, sporting goods and outdoor stores nationwide.
