Recreation Outfitters Inc., the Vancouver BC-based distributor of Swiss-made Movement Skis, announced that snowsports industry veteran, George Couperthwait, will be joining Movement North America in a consulting role. His focus will be with the Movement Skis sales and marketing team.
Couperthwait comes to Movement having spent 14 years as the Alpine Division Manager for Rossignol Ski Company, where he directed strategic marketing and sales activities for the brand and played a key role in some of Rossignols most successful product developments. Most recently, Couperthwait has worked with Ignition Incorporated, and international event and experiential marketing agency based in Atlanta, GA.
“More than most, George knows the ins-and-outs of the ski industry and has a unique and comprehensive understanding of the state of the industry and the current challenges facing both retailers and suppliers,” said James Retty, Vice President of Sales for ROI. “Were eager to harness his skills and creativity as we continue to grow our presence in the ski industry. George's strategic, results-driven approach will play an instrumental role in helping us achieve a new level in our business while increasing support to Movements hard-core alpine customer base,” added Retty.
Movement Skis manufactures all of its skis for big mountain freeride and freestyle skiers in its own factory with proprietary high performance wood cores.
