Mountainsmith appointed Stephen Serna as its new customer service representative/warranty coordinator, a key new position meant to further heighten the companys reputation for service. The announcement was made by Jay Getzel, president of Mountainsmith, a supplier of outdoor products including packs, tents, poles, camera bags and more.  

“Mountainsmith is excited to be adding resources to our team here in Golden and we are thrilled to welcome Stephen to our staff, commented Getzel. In thisnewly created role, he will focus on providing best-in-classservice and warranty management to our consumers and helping us forge strong, long lasting relationships with our dealers.”

Prior to joining Mountainsmith, Serna spent 11 years with REI, most recently at the REI Flagship store in Denver where he was a sales associate in the camping department.  His experience at retail was enhanced as an outdoor instructor for the REI Outdoor School where he taught a variety of subjects including family camping, GPS use, the art of traveling light and snowshoeing.  In 2005 he received the REI Anderson Award, a peer nominated annual honor given to the staff member from each store that most encompasses core values.  Prior to joining REI, he earned a BA at Colorado Mesa University.
