Montrail has forged an agreement with Beta Climbing Designs to become the company’s new sales representative for the United Kingdom and Ireland. Starting August 15, 2004, Beta Climbing Designs will take over all Montrail sales and service from Lyon Equipment Ltd. Montrail stockists were informed by letter this week of the new relationship with Beta Climbing Designs.

In the remaining period, Montrail, Lyon Equipment and Beta Climbing Designs are working on a smooth transition so that deliveries and service to Montrail stockists are uninterrupted.

The team of Simon Berry and Ian Barnes of Beta Climbing Designs will assume the role of official sales agents for Montrail UK. Neil Bentley will also join the team this summer, to head up marketing and promotions for climbing, fell running and endurance racing.

Beta Climbing Designs distributes a wide variety of climbing products, including E9, the Italian apparel line, Flashed Climbing, a Canadian apparel line, as well as accessories of their own brand and design. The company also sells and markets skate boards, flying toys and footbags.

“Beta Climbing Designs is an eager and exciting partner,” said Scott Tucker, president of Montrail. “They are a perfect match for the Montrail brand and can support the entire line of products.”
