Momentec Brands reports that it recently consolidated its own brands into a new “state-of-the-art Performance Center in Kannapolis, NC, just northeast of Charlotte. Measuring 755,000 square feet, the facility “unifies five legacy distribution centers under one single, highly automated roof.”

Momentec said in a media release, “By shifting from a fragmented network to a singular high-performance distribution center, Momentec is replacing regional geographic silos with a hyper-efficient, predictive ecosystem. This unified distribution center is designed to serve customers with improved speed and accuracy, delivering in-stock orders in a single shipment. “

The company’s brands include Augusta Sportswear, Alleson, Badger, C2, High 5, Holloway, Pacific Headwear, and Russell Athletic.

Momentec Brands said “a priority in establishing the Performance Center is optimization and execution to support speed, accuracy and scalability. Consolidating five structures into one reduces overall corporate supply chain spend, cuts energy overhead and provides customers with a single shipment rather than multiple shipments from various distribution centers. In addition, Momentec is building a showroom and meeting space for customer collaboration and facility tours.

Karl Buchanan, chief operating officer at Momentec Brands, stated, “Operating five disparate facilities inherently brought logistical friction—duplicated inventory pools, varying transit times, and fragmented tracking data. The new consolidated Performance Center eliminates these bottlenecks entirely. From fulfillment to decoration, from kitting to shipping, this is where it all connects to Momentec. Pacific Headwear, together with all the stock apparel Momentec offers, is a big win for customers.”

The technology, backed by the integration of advanced logistics and automated intelligence, includes:

  • Intelligent Picking Ecosystems: The facility relies heavily on Radio Frequency (RF) and voice-directed picking solutions with over 170 Locus Picking Robots that optimize travel paths across the building footprint. This “significantly reduces picking cycle times while elevating order accuracy metrics.”
  • On-Site Specialized Production: Beyond standard distribution, the facility features dedicated technical zones for advanced value-added services. These include automated co-packing, precision labeling, module assembly, and serial-coded electronic compliance checking.

Momentec said, “This is more than a building — this is where Team Momentec comes to perform. This is where trust is earned through execution. This is where Momentec Brands is poised to make its mark moving forward.”
