Modell’s Sporting Goods plans to open three stores this week. The locations are in Manhattan at 51st & 3rd, as well as Bloomfield and Cherry Hill, NJ.

The store at 845 Third Avenue will be the company’s 12th location in Manhattan and will open on November 17 with a ceremonial ribbon cutting at 7:30 a.m. The 21,000-square-foot location (formerly Sports Authority) will bring the chain’s total store count to 159 locations.

“Modell’s is thrilled about opening this new location right before this exciting holiday season,” said Modell’s Sporting Goods CEO and President Mitchell Modell. “With special deals and unbeatable prices throughout the holiday season, customers are going to be able to get a jumpstart on their holiday shopping.”

The location will consist of an assortment for men’s, women’s, and kid’s. Customers will have the opportunity to experience the new Modell’s through branded vendor shops.

On hand will be New York Giants Defensive End Jason Pierre Paul on Monday, November 21 at 6 p.m. and New York Knicks shooting guard Courtney Lee on Wednesday, November 23 at 5 p.m. Modell’s plans to help make New York sports more accessible to Midtown East.

The stores opening in Cherry Hill and Bloomfield will also include guest appearances for their openings. These include New York Giants running back Orleans Darkwa, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Brandon Manning and Philadelphia 76ers first round pick Jahlil Okafor.
