Mizuno USA, Inc. announced last week that it posted its fifth consecutive year of revenue and earnings growth, reporting that overall sales for the company increased 12% versus the prior year. Since 1999, Mizuno has seen revenue grow 77%.

The company’s Golf Division saw gains in both sales and market share with sales revenue in the U.S. in 2004 up 12.2% versus 2003, driven by an 18% increase in iron sales. This is the second consecutive year of double-digit growth for the division in what they see as a flat market.

The Athletic Division posted a 23% increase in revenue for 2004, resulting in a 291% increase in revenue for the five year period. Mizuno increased market share within running specialty by 26% from 2003 to 2004, posting a share of 10.1%, according to Sports Marketing Surveys USA. Mizuno received four more awards from Runner’s World magazine in 2004. The Wave Creation 5 received “Best Update” for March, the Wave Mustang 2 received “Best Update” for June, the Wave Legend 3 received “Best Update” for September, and the Wave Alchemy 4 received “Best Update” for December. Mizuno Wave Technology was also ranked the #1 technology for the fourth consecutive season by specialty retailers in terms of benefit to the serious runner, according to Sports Marketing Surveys USA.

The Mizuno Diamond Division increased revenue for the fifth consecutive year, up 5% in 2004, and increasing revenue 64% from 1999 to 2004. Mizuno said it achieved the #1 position in market share for ball gloves in markets where it competes.
