Larry Brushett has joined Mizuno USA, Inc. as the new Softball Promotions Manager. With over 30 years of involvement in baseball and softball, Brushett will be responsible for growing Mizuno’s fastpitch softball business through sponsorship agreements with NCAA softball programs and leveraging current Brand Ambassadors Jennie Finch and Natasha Watley, while building brand recognition and loyalty.

Brushett joined the Hollywood Bases company in 1992 as General Manager, responsible for the day to day operation of the company as well as growth and expansion of the product line. Hollywood Bases was the “Official Base of Major League Baseball” for decades until the company was purchased by Schutt Sports in 1996, where Brushett stayed on as Brand Manager of Baseball and Softball. In addition to his over thirty years experience on the business side of baseball and softball, Brushett also played fastpitch softball in Los Angeles and surrounding areas since 1972, coached fastpitch softball at the college level at Yuba College in Marysville, California, as well as at the high school level when he coached for both La Crescenta High School, and La Canada High School, both also located in California.

“We are excited to welcome Larry Brushett to Mizuno USA,” said Bob Puccini, President Mizuno USA, Inc., and Chairman, Mizuno Canada, Ltd. “Larry’s background in fastpitch softball as a player, a coach, and on the business side of the game is going to be invaluable to our continued success. The hiring of a fastpitch softball veteran such as Larry is yet another indication of Mizuno’s continued commitment to fastpitch softball.”

Brushett attended Glendale College, located in Glendale, California, before spending four years in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Crew Chief. Brushett resides in Loomis, California, with Kay, his wife of 38 years, and has three daughters, Lori, Christy and Carrie, who all reside with their families within 10 miles of Brushett’s home.
