Doug Smiley has joined Mizuno USA, Inc., as the company’s new running footwear business unit manager. He will be managing the running footwear category at Mizuno, which includes planning and executing seasonal footwear lines. Smiley comes to Mizuno after a 10-year career at City Sports, Inc., where he most recently served as running footwear buyer.
Smiley will develop market leading running footwear in conjunction with the Global Footwear Group at Mizuno Corporation in Osaka, Japan.
At City Sports, Smiley was responsible for managing the Running Footwear category, where he helped usher the growth that outpaced City Sports’ overall company growth. He worked closely with key vendor partners in formulating product launch campaigns and seasonal marketing plans that produced record seasonal sales.

Smiley received a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Marquette University, and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. Smiley will be relocating from Boston to the Atlanta area.
