Mizuno Running announced that it added five new members to its field team to support the brand’s five-year strategic plan in the run specialty channel.

“Mizuno is investing in talented professionals who not only understand the sport of running but also the business of specialty retail. By expanding its team, Mizuno strengthens its ability to serve retailers, support runners and continue building toward its vision of becoming a top-tier brand in the specialty space,” said the company in a media release.

The new hires include:

  1. Christian Anderton, Running Brand Specialist, Birmingham, AL: Anderton began his career in the running specialty industry, working for Trak Shak Running Shops from 2020 to 2023, before joining Hibbett Sports as an allocation analyst. A former Troy University cross country and track & field athlete, Anderton brings both competitive running and retail experience to the role.
  2. Ben Hanlon, Running Brand Specialist, Richmond, VA: Hanlon joins Mizuno after serving as interim manager and a top salesperson at Big Peach Running Co., Cumming, GA. He attended Berry College and earned seven conference championships in running. Hanlon has also coached at South Forsyth High School.
  3. Zach Opdenaker, Territory Manager, Mid-Atlantic (MD, VA, DC): Opdenaker has previously worked with Saucony and Upper Quadrant. His career began in run specialty retail with Delaware Running Company and Philadelphia Runner. He has completed three marathons and two ultras, including winning the 2019 Delaware Marathon.
  4. Adam Jones, Territory Manager, Carolinas (NC & SC): Jones previously worked at Trak Shak, Fleet Feet Winston-Salem, NC and Run For Your Life. He also has sales experience in the outdoor industry, having worked with White Duck Outdoors. A former NCAA All-American in the 1500m at Samford University, Jones most recently won the 2024 Charlotte Marathon.
  5. Nick Carlone, Territory Manager, Pacific Northwest (OR, WA, ID): Industry veteran Carlone joins Mizuno with proficiency in retail and field sales, having managed Fleet Feet Sacramento and as a Brooks “Guru,” Mizuno Running Brand Specialist, and Karhu sales rep.
