Merrell plans to enter the barefoot category through an exclusive collaboration with Vibram, well known Five Fingers barefoot concept.

Merrell said the outsole design aids in multi-directional movement and adaptability.

In other categories, new modern outdoor designs for women include: the Avian Light collection, an agile, fast and light, fashion-forward multi-sport collection, and Mezame, a line of casual slides with flippable massaging footbeds that are ideal for apr̬s outdoor activity. For the multi-tasking outdoor man, the Bushwhack collection combines bike-specific engineering with hiking comfort for go-anywhere performance Рfrom single track, to the trail and the pub. These collections will be available through Merrell retailers and at www.merrell.com in February 2011.
