The Retail Advertising and Marketing Association (RAMA), a division of The National Retail Federation, named Kevin Brown, group vice president, and chief marketing officer at Meijer Inc. as chairman of its board of directors.


 

Brown was elected during RAMA’s September meeting and will serve a two-year term. Brown will succeed Half Price Books’ Executive Vice President Kathy Doyle-Thomas.

Brown joined Meijer in April 2011 and is responsible for consumer insights, overseeing the company’s marketing and advertising plans and executing strategies as they relate to pricing and promotions. Prior to his role at Meijer, Brown served as the vice president and chief marketing officer of the Home Appliances and Business Unit at Sears Holdings Corporation Brown holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance degree from University of Texas. In addition to electing a new chairman, RAMA also welcomes five new members to its board of directors. New members will each serve a three- year term.
