Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) will open its next new store in late June in Langley, BC.

The 16,000-square-foot MEC store will open in Willowbrook Shopping Centre, on the Fraser Highway near the Langley Bypass. It will mark the outdoor retail co-operative’s third location in the Lower Mainland, its fourth in BC, and seventeenth in Canada.

“People who love being active in the outdoors will find plenty to be excited about in MEC’s Langley store, said MEC CEO David Labistour. From traditional outdoor activities like climbing and paddling through to urban pursuits such as cycling and road running, the store will offer a broad selection of all the great gear, apparel and accessories that MEC is renowned for.”

MEC’s Langley store will be readily accessible to the thousands of co-op members who live in the Fraser Valley. Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Maple Ridge and White Rock residents as well as those from Langley itself are expected to frequent the store.

MEC Langley will employ approximately 25 people, including 5 senior staff. Recruitment for the store manager and other senior staff positions is currently underway.
