President Barack Obama  announced his intention to appoint Matthew Rubel, former president and CEO of Collective Brands, to an additional term on the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations, a key Administration advisory post. Rubel, who has served as chairman, president and CEO of several top retail brands and is an adviser to leading investors in the consumer sector, was initially appointed to the Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations (ACTPN) in 2010.

President Obama, commenting on the appointment of Rubel and other Administration advisors, said, These men and women have demonstrated knowledge and dedication throughout their careers. I am grateful they have chosen to take on these important roles, and I look forward to working with them in the months and years to come.

Rubel stated, It is an honor to be asked to once again serve my country as a member of the ACTPN. I look forward to working with my fellow members and the Administration to provide advice on the trade policies that are vital to the economic well-being of our nation.
