Marmot’s Vice President of Sales Roanne Miller was voted onto the American Alpine Club’s Board of Directors in February for a three-year term.

A native Coloradan, Roanne Miller has enjoyed a hard-working professional career in the outdoor industry combined with nearly three decades of mountaineering, rock-climbing and backcountry skiing. Beginning in 1980, Miller worked as an instructor for Colorado Outward Bound. From 1983-1986 she co-owned and operated Telemark Ski Guides, a retail store and guide service in Denver and in through the 1990’s opened additional stores in the Denver-Boulder area.

Miller began her career with Marmot in 1997 as a visual merchandiser and later became the company’s Director of Business Development and National Sales Manager. She has also remained an active climber and skier through the years, serving as an athlete for the brand since 1997. In 2007, Milller was appointed to Marmot’s VP of Sales.

Jim Donini, who just completed his term as President of the American Alpine Club, said, “Roanne Miller is an excellent selection for our board of directors. She understands climbers’ sensibilities and brings creative solutions to the table and a professional acumen that can help broaden the AAC’s reach as an international organization.”

“I hope to bridge to the gap between the outdoor and climbing community to building corporate sponsorship – focusing on creative, sustainable development to grow the AAC,” said Miller. “I hope that my experiences in business and years in the mountains can help continue to build the AAC into an even greater organization.”
