Backpacker Magazine announced that the Marmot Aeolos 2
person tent received its 2006 Editors Choice Award for the tent category for “outstanding innovation in design, materials and performance.” Recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the outdoor industry, the Editors’ Choice Award is the result of impartial testing standards and rigorous, real world field-testing.

Jeff Blakely, Tent Category Manager for Marmot, said, ” It is a great honor to receive this recognition from BACKPACKER. Their testing is tough and fair. The competition is tough and fair. The Marmot design process requires equal amounts of value and innovation, and I think we got both sides of the scale right with the Aeolos tent. But as a designer, you never know until people have the opportunity to test and respond to our ideas. We are very grateful for this response.”

Marmot received the Editors’ Choice Award in 2003 for the PreCip Oracle Jacket. It received the Editors’ Choice Gold Award in 2002 for the DriClime Windshirt. Dana Designs, now a part of Marmot, received the 1999 Editors’ Choice Award for the Dana Terraplane Pack.
