Marketing Promotions Associate – Team Sports

Summary of Position:

Management of all integrated marketing programs and promotional investments
to support New Balance Team Sports. Primary responsibilities include
assistance with strategic planning, budgeting, and organizing involved with
the execution and fulfillment of all programs initiated for the Team Sports
and retail business in football/cleated, basketball, baseball, softball,
cheer, and Team Track & Field. Analyze marketing spending and determine
efficient reporting systems to measure success of plans. Effective
communication and collaboration with the Team Sports Sales group
(particularly the Team Sports Specialists) and Product Marketing
counterparts, as well as other internal and external constituents, is
critical for this position.

Job Duties:

  • Manage integrated marketing promotions programs to achieve category
    business goals (footwear, apparel and licensed products). Including our
    existing AAU, MSL Combine, Mega Clinics, Dana Barros Sports Complex, NABC,
    WBCA, TABC, AEMA, NATA, Basketball Camps/Clinics and H.S./college team
    sponsorships.
  • Assist with and contribute to the strategic planning process to grow
    and support the team sports and retail business
  • Coordinate the idea generation and development of all sell in and
    retail account specific programs including collateral, POP, mailers, slat
    wall signage, posters etc.
  • Development, negotiation, and ownership of sponsorship contracts
  • Development and management of sponsorship activation plans and
    tradeshow/event execution
  • Responsible for setting measurable program goals/metrics and
    Promotions Audit
  • Responsible for leveraging all merchandising opportunities based on
    media buys
  • Budget forecasting, spend tracking, investment analysis

Requirements:

  • College degree
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience (Team Sports marketing,
    marketing promotions, retail marketing, sponsorship, sports marketing,
    event planning/execution, online and offline relationship marketing)
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal (writing samples
    will be requested)
  • Experience in managing external vendors, primarily Agencies and
    tradeshows companies
  • Solid understanding of and experience with creative development,
    print production process, print ad buys and online marketing
  • Experience in budget management, forecasting and analysis
  • Experience in managing (full-time) Marketing Promotions Coordinator
  • Willingness to travel (including weekends)
  • Ability to take initiative and be decisive
