Manchester United reported revenues from its Retail, Merchandising, Apparel & Product Licensing (RMA&PL) operations declined 12.3 percent to £9.3 million, in the fourth quarter ended June 30 as Nike primarily focused on sales of national team products leading up to the World Cup.

RMA&PL revenues were off 2.8 percent for the full fiscal years, reaching £37.5 million, even as Manchester Uniteds broadcasting and sponsorship revenues soared.

Manchester United announced in June that it had sold the right to manage the RMA&PL business to Adidas for 10 years for £750 million, or nearly $1.3 billion at todays exchange rate. Adidas will take the business over from rival Nike Aug. 1, 2015.

Manchester United reported adjusted net income for fiscal 2014 increased 51.1% to £28.7m and adjusted diluted earnings per share was up 50.3% to 17.51 pence.

 Commercial revenues increased 24.1% for the year to a record £189.3m-43.7% of total revenue. During the fiscal year, the company announced:
        3 global sponsorship partnerships
        9 regional sponsorship partnerships, and
        8 financial services and telecom partnerships.
    
Broadcasting revenues increased 33.7% for the year, due to the new FAPL domestic and international TV rights agreements.
   
The soccer club, which claims to be the most popular professional sports franchise in the world, reached 56 million Facebook followers compared to 34 million a year ago and launched official Twitter, Sina Weibo, Tencent Weibo and Google+ pages.
