Mammut, the maker of apparel, gear, and accessories for outdoor pursuits, is expanding its presence in the Southeast by partnering with Top Gun Sales. Led by Kurt Smith and Chaz Warren, the partnership will increase Mammut’s regional reach with local retailers and gyms.

“We’re delighted to welcome Kurt Smith and Chaz Warren of Top Gun Sales to the Mammut team,” said Matt Kaplan, president of Mammut North America. “Their reputation for service and authentic connection with the climbing and outdoor community establishes them as a strategic partner in our path to grow the brand in North America. The team holds a deep understanding of the outdoor industry, and we know their hands-on approach will help elevate the brand in a key region.”

Smith is a former professional climber and developer of climbing areas, including Rifle and El Potrero Chico. “With over 46 years of climbing experience and over 21 years as an independent sales rep, Kurt has built deep industry relationships fueled by his passion for climbing culture. He has been recognized as the Grassroots Outdoor Alliance (GOA) Rep of the Year in 2019 and 2025, and his agency has earned multiple Agency Rep of the Year honors with Nemo Equipment,” stated Mammut in a media release.

Based in the New River Gorge, WV, Smith combines his knowledge of climbing and sales to support retailers and gyms across the territory. Longtime partner Chaz Warren, based in Chattanooga, TN, has worked with Smith for 15 years in the Southeast. The agency’s philosophy “embodies a ‘road warrior’ ethos: spending quality time in retail stores and gyms, delivering staff training and brand education, and fostering clear, frequent communication with their partners,” continued Mammut.

Top Gun Sales represents a diverse portfolio of brands, including a 12-year partnership with Nemo Equipment and a 4-year partnership with LifeStraw. The agency’s territory spans much of the Southeast and select Mid-Atlantic and Midwest states, including Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
