In a recall implemented by the  U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, along with Johnson Health Tech North America, Inc., nearly 18,000 Horizon Fitness and LIVESTRONG fitness elliptical trainers will be pulled from the market.

Citing safety concerns related to a disengaging foot pedal, the CPSC has concluded the equipment poses a dire safety hazard. To date, Johnson Health is aware of 58 reports of foot pedal disengagements. However, no injuries have been reported.

The recalled products are elliptical trainers branded under the Horizon Fitness and LIVESTRONG Fitness names. Consumers will be able to identify recalled equipment by matching the brand name, model and serial numbers listed on the equipment itself.
