Majestic Athletic will present the inaugural “Always Game” award at the annual Players Choice Awards. The “Always Game” award will be given to the player who – game in and game out – constantly exhibits grit, tenacity, perseverance and hustle; all for the benefit of his teammates and fans.

Finalists for the first-ever “Always Game” award are Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros, Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays, and Dee Gordon of the Miami Marlins. Altuve, Donaldson and Gordon were chosen as finalists by the players from a group of nominees originally selected by Majestic Athletic and a panel of baseball experts.

Final balloting for the “Always Game” award was conducted in Major League clubhouses on September 16, under the supervision of accounting firm KPMG, when Major Leaguers cast their Players Choice Awards ballots to honor each league's outstanding player, pitcher, rookie and comeback player, as well as the overall Player of the Year and the Marvin Miller Man of the Year.

“Majestic is proud to be a sponsor of the 2015 Players Choice Awards,” says Jim Pisani, president at Majestic Athletic. “The Always Game award exemplifies performance punctuated by positive energy, hustle, relentlessness, and sportsmanship. This approach mirrors and symbolizes the sustained commitment of our many associates at Majestic Athletic.”

“Each year Major Leaguers honor the best of the best – on and off the field – with their Players Choice Awards. This year, the MLBPA is excited to partner with Majestic Athletic in their creation of an award that recognizes those players who leave everything on the field, game after game, ” says Evan Kaplan, MLBPA Director Licensing & Business Development. “Majestic Athletic's “Always Game” award, determined by the Players, helps shine an additional spotlight on the awe-inspiring performances baseball fans everywhere witness throughout the season.”

The Players Choice Awards presented by MLB The Show will be announced exclusively on MLB Network, Monday, Nov. 9, from 8 PM – 9 PM ET. MLB Network's local channel listings are available at FindMLBNetwork.com.
