Magellan GPS, a subsidiary of MiTac Digital Corp., has hired Jeff Burns at their national sales manager for the Fitness and Outdoor categories. Magellan GPS will be launching a new line of crossover GPS fitness watches this spring named the Switch series and targeting specialty retailers.

Burns is a sporting goods veteran, with more than 15 years of sporting good business in sales, sales management and product marketing roles at  Reebok Int'l and Cool Gear Int'l. Burns will be reporting to Ted Siebenman, senior director of sales for  Fitness and Outdoor at Magellan GPS.

Burns will be providing sales management for the newly created Fitness category and the Outdoor category and will be building out their respective sales forces. He will be working with all Magellan GPS representatives to launch the Fitness category this spring and to continue the momentum the company is experiencing and help facilitate these developments within Magellan's US account base.
