Longstreth Sporting Goods, based in Parker Ford, PA, announced that Joni Garber, field hockey sales and service manager, is retiring after 13 years with Longstreth. Garber has been involved with the Sporting Goods industry since 1980, specializing in field hockey since 1994.

“I have watched the game of field hockey grow over the past 30 years and I value each and every day that I have been blessed to be a part of it,” says Garber. “Throughout my career I have been very fortunate to have worked with so many great members of the field hockey community and I will carry all of those memories with me as I begin a new chapter in my life. I have been especially fortunate to be part of the Longstreth family which is a supportive and caring group of people whom I call my extended family.”

“I would like to thank Joni for her many years of service and contributions to the field hockey community,” says Jana Withrow, Field Hockey Manager at Longstreth. “At Longstreth, Joni demonstrated daily passion, care and commitment to servicing her customers throughout the years. I wish her much happiness in retirement and thank her for the positive impact she has made on both Longstreth and the field hockey community.”

“Very simply, Joni has demonstrated unparalleled care for the sport of field hockey and it’s participants,” said John Schaefer, Longstreth's co-owner. “She has set an unbelievable example in providing world class customer service here at Longstreth. We wish her the best, and will continue to follow her high standards in taking care of our customers.”

Before coming to Longstreth, Garber was a teacher, field hockey and basketball coach at Pocono Mountain High School. After receiving her Master's Degree at East Stroudsburg University, she was the assistant lacrosse coach at Millersville University where they won the 1982 Division 3 National Championship. That team was then inducted into the Millersville University Hall of Fame in 2010.
