Localgear.com, an online market for athletic and outdoor recreation products envisioned by a handful of independent outdoor specialty retailers, has rebranded as Locally.com and will officially launch at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market next month.

Locally.com lets users follow their favorite stores and brands, read and write product reviews and create and manager wish lists that alert them when an item is available from a local retailer.


The site uses patent-pending technology to aggregate product catalogs directly from the best brands and stock information from local merchants. So far, 31 leading outdoor specialty brands and more than 1,214 vendors with more than 1,500 stores have listed more than 80,000 styles and 420,000 UPC codes on the site.


Locally.com automatically locates the shopper geographically and uses that information to assemble a marketplace consisting of both local, nearby products and additional products that can be bought from online partners, which include brand owned, big box and independently owned and operated stores. The site does not buy or sell products, but works of an affiliate model in which it earns a commission for referring consumers to participating retailers, where the consumer consummates their purchase.
