Light & Motion, a leader for lighting systems for active pursuits, announced the sponsorship of Meredith Miller. Miller, a former National Champion on the road and multi-time US National Team member at the Cyclocross World Championships, will compete in the Sea Otter Classic women’s mountain bike short track and cross country races, taking place on April 11 and 12, respectively.

“We are excited to have Meredith join our Light & Motion Factory Team, along with professional Single Speed Men’s Elite competitor Dax Massey,” said Daniel Emerson, Light & Motion CEO.  “Meredith has been an ambassador for us for several years and shares our mission of eliminating barriers to cycling for women. We’re thrilled that she is now able to represent us on the race course as well.”

Miller retired from road racing in 2014 after dedicating the last ten years to being a full-time professional cyclist. The last five years of her career was spent at Team TIBCO. Miller was chosen to be captain of the team for her leadership skills and role as a mentor to young and developing riders. On the road, her role as a domestique contributed to countless team wins. Her voice and presence within the women’s peloton has been significant in helping elevate the status of women’s cycling as a whole.

Six years ago, Miller picked up a cyclocross bike and began building a successful career on the dirt as well. She has been a member of the California Giant Berry Farms/Specialized team from the beginning. Most recently, Miller competed in her fifth World Championships as a member of Team USA. Although Miller has retired from professional road racing, she hopes to continue racing cyclocross throughout the United States this fall/winter.

Being a well-rounded cyclist, Miller has also competed at the elite level on the mountain bike. In 2012 Miller finished just outside the top ten at both the short track and cross country races at Sea Otter. Later that year, Miller went on to finish fifth in the short track and top ten in the cross country races at the US National Championships.
