Lifetime Products Inc. of Clearfield, Utah, which purports to be one of Clearfield, Utah, which purports to be one of the largest kayak manufacturers in the U.S., introduced its first sit-inside kayak and said it will go on sales this month at Sports Authority for $299.


Sports Authority already sells the company’s Payette Angler Kayak for $349.


The 9-foot, six-inch Lifetime Payette Kayak is aimed at providing beginner and intermediate kayakers “an affordable option for a sit-inside kayak boasting great performance, quality, and stability.” It features a flat hull bottom, deep tracking channels and stability chine rails specifically engineered to provide beginning paddlers with lots stability.

 
Constructed of blow-molded high-density polyethylene, the Lifetime Payette™ Kayak is durable, impact-resistant, and UV-protected so it will not fade, crack, or peel. The lightweight, 44-pound design with front and rear carry handles makes it easy for one person to transport to and from the waterfront. Unlike most sit-inside kayaks on the market, the Lifetime Payette Kayak features a molded-in seat for comfort with a separate seat back. Its extra-wide cockpit opening allows kayakers to get in and out with ease and also provides more leg room that is augmented with multiple footrest positions for different-sized riders.
