Life-Link International, manufacturers of Life-Link Backcountry gear and distributors of Dynafit Alpine Touring gear report a very strong category sales increase in Winter 03/04 over Winter 02/03. Due to the growth of Backcountry skiing, snowboarding, backcountry travel, and avalanche awareness, in general, as well as our new product designs and gear performance, Life-Link will surpass sales projections for 03/04 Winter season.

Sales of Life-Link backcountry/avalanche safety gear including shovels, packs, ski poles, probes and other avalanche safety gear have increased. Life-Link probes are extremely popular right now, with the new innovative lightweight easy quick-draw design. The Dynafit Bindings' lightweight composition and unique design and functionality prove to push the envelope in its category.

“Shops cannot seem to keep the Dynafit Binding on the shelf. With backcountry skiers becoming more knowledgeable of their options, and dealers hearing of its' superior tour-ability and durability from customersŠit's no wonder we're once again scrambling to keep up with the demand.” Tim, Kelley, Life-Link/Dynafit National Sales Manager.

Mike Keating, Manager and Buyer at Teton Mountaineering, agrees, noting, “Sales of avalanche gear are way up, also the Alpine Touring sales are outstanding, with wide skis and the Dynafit system being the most requested.”

Life-Link is not only committed to innovation in backcountry gear but is also very involved in Avalanche Awareness and supporting Avalanche Center's and other various programs that raise money to promote avalanche awareness. “As a manufacturer of Backcountry Safety equipment, we feel it is only natural to actively promote avalanche awareness, now more than ever, as our backcountry community grows, it is important that skiers and snowboarders are educated and equipped to enjoy the terrain and plentiful snow.” States Claire Johnson of Life-Link's marketing department. “Not only is it cool to be in the backcountry and to ski/ride powder, but it's also cool to be aware of the avalanche dangers and to have the proper gear. Shop owners are taking note of this and filling the shelves with the necessary, probes, shovels, etcŠ” says John Scott, Executive Vice President at Life-Link International.
