Bert and John Jacobs, co-founders and leaders of The Life is good Company, were awarded honorary degrees as Doctors of Entrepreneurship on May 6 at Northeastern University’s 109th Commencement.

More than 22,000 graduating students, their families and friends were present in Boston’s TD Garden for the graduation ceremony. Northeastern University bestowed the honorary degrees in recognition of the Jacobs brothers “inspirational leadership in their profession, their community and worldwide.”

The Boston-based company they founded spreads the power of optimism through its colorful collection of apparel and accessories and through its social mission to help kids overcome life-threatening challenges. The Life is good Kids Foundation, through its action arm, Life is good Playmakers, provides training and support to the adults dedicated to caring for these children so that all involved lead healthier, more joyful lives.

The company continues to raise money to carry out its social mission through Life is good Festivals and the 100 percent of profits that the company donates to the Foundation from nationwide sales of select products.
