The 2013 Life is good Festival drew 30,000 participants who helped raise more than $1 million for The Life is good Kids Foundation to help kids in need over the weekend.

Life is good, the Boston-based lifestyle brand committed to spreading the power of optimism and helping kids in need, produced the Festival in partnership with Superfly Presents, the producers of the iconic Bonnaroo and Outside Lands festivals. The festival took place Sept. 21-22, 2013 in Canton, MA.

“Every year, the Life is good Festival brings optimists of all walks of life together to make a difference in the lives of kids who really need it,” said Bert Jacobs, chief executive optimist for Life is good. “The event proves that optimism is not just fun, it’s powerful!”

The donation resulting from this year’s Festival will go directly to The Life is good Kids Foundation to help kids in need. To date, Life is good has raised $11 million for the Life is good Kids Foundation, principally through the annual Life is good Festival, community fundraising efforts and Life is good products. Life is good donates 10 percent of its net profits to help kids in need.

“Life is good at the Life is good Festival. We had an amazing time both on the stage and out and about in the crowd earlier in the day,” said Jack Johnson. “My family will be back to enjoy the Festival again. Aloha.”

The two-day celebration of music and optimism featured three stages of musical talent, games and activities for all ages. New this year to the Festival was the Life is good Coffee House, which offered a relaxed, intimate atmosphere where Festival-goers enjoyed the new line of gourmet Life is good coffee and a musical lineup curated by singer Ryan Montbleau.

Whether they were jamming out to the eclectic group of artists or taking in the sights of the BMX bike show, all attendees came together as a community of optimists to raise money for the Life is good Kids Foundation. Many individuals who purchased tickets set up personal fundraising pages, and those who raised $500 or more were rewarded with exclusive backstage hospitality, preferred concert viewing, artist meet and greets and other perks. Jack Johnson, Daryl Hall & John Oates, YO GABBA GABBA! and other nationally-known musical talent performed at the show.
