Lids Sports Group is not renewing its license agreement with the Chicago Cubs to operate Cubs Clubhouse stores.

The last two Cubs Clubhouse at Water Tower Place and the Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont are being converted to Locker Room by Lids and will sell items beyond Cubs merchandise, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune. The arrangement was in place for eight years.

John DeWaal, Lids’ VP of marketing, told the newspaper the Cubs “were looking to be more active with their own retail and retail partners, and we wanted to be able to use the store more flexibly across all teams.”
