USPA Properties Inc., global steward of the U.S. Polo Assn. brand, and LF Asia, a subsidiary of Li & Fung Limited, the multinational consumer goods export and logistics group announced a new multi-year licensing agreement. The agreement makes LF Asia the master licensee for the U.S. Polo Assn. brand in China.

Under the agreement, LF Asia will source U.S. Polo Assn.-branded apparel and accessories for the Chinese market and will partner with select retailers to bring the U.S. Polo Assn. brand to Chinese shoppers across the country.

“Synonymous with quality consumer product development, LF Asia is the ideal partner to represent the U.S. Polo Assn. brand in China,” said David Cummings, president and CEO of USPA Properties. “Li & Fung's unrivaled design and development expertise will build on and accelerate the impressive results we have achieved in Asia over the last few years. As we continue to rapidly expand our international operations, we believe LF Asia's leadership in this critical market will make a significant difference.”

Available in China for more than a decade, the U.S. Polo Assn. brand expects to substantially increase sales with the addition of LF Asia by capitalizing on the company's reach and expertise.

“U.S. Polo Assn. is an internationally-recognized brand with a unique heritage dating to 1890, as well as a strong consumer appeal,” said Jason Rabin, president of LF Asia. “We believe this is a tremendous opportunity to bring the authentic style of polo to the Chinese market through our partnership with the USPA Properties team; we look forward to a long and successful relationship.”

U.S. Polo Assn. is the official brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA), the non-profit governing body for the sport of polo in the United States since 1890.

Li & Fung Limited, the Hong Kong-headquartered multinational group, is recognized as the world's leader in consumer goods design, development, sourcing and distribution.
