Levi’s has signe d on as a platinum sponsor for Outsiders Ball and will underwrite the Century Cycling Challenge at the event, The Outdoor Foundation announced.

“We are excited and energized to support the Outsiders Ball and re-engage the Outdoor Industry at large with our iconic brand and latest innovations – leading with the Levi’s Commuter collection!,” said James ‘JC’ Curleigh – President of Levi’s. “Put on your favorite pair of Levi’s and join us for a great cause at the Outsiders Ball.”

The activation area is expected to draw quite the crowd, consisting of bikes on trainers with speedometers. For every mile ridden by guests of the Ball, Levi’s has pledged to donate $150 dollars to the Outdoor Foundation’s non-profit projects – up to $15,000. Every guest is encouraged to take a turn riding a bike to help hit the goal of 100 miles by 10 pm.  This activation is new this year to the Ball and is one of the many ways guests are able to help raise funds and lend support for well-deserving projects.

“Thanks to the generosity of Levi’s the Outdoor Foundation’s Outsiders Ball will be a memorable mix of work and play, friends and peers, actions and art,” said Chris Fanning, executive director of the Outdoor Foundation. “We are partying for a purpose – to raise awareness and generate funds for getting more youth outdoors. Please consider joining us for this one night where we can all come together around an issue that truly affects the future and health of our industry.”

Hosted by the Outdoor Foundation, the Ball is the outdoor industry’s flagship fundraiser to combat the inactivity crisis prevalent among youth and young adults in America. The statistics are staggering. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, the average young person today spends eight hours in front of a screen and only eight minutes outside and active.

The Outsiders Ball takes place on ‘Night 0’ each year during Outdoor Retailer’s Summer Market.   Tickets are available now for this year’s Ball, which will be held on August 4 at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Founded in 2000, the Outdoor Foundation is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and growing future generations of outdoor leaders and enthusiasts. Through youth engagement, community grant-making, and groundbreaking research, the Foundation works with young leaders and partners to mobilize a major cultural shift that leads all Americans to the great outdoors. In just five years, the Foundation has invested $4 million into 785 not-for-profit and college programs that have connected 200,000 young people to the outdoors. Importantly, 90¢ of every dollar goes directly into this critical work. Visit us at outdoorfoundation.org and outdoornation.org for more information.
