Leupold & Stevens, Inc. has launched a new Tactical Optics Division with dedicated engineering and project management support the company said will meet the needs of the modern warfighter.

“We are excited to open this new chapter in the history of the Leupold brand,” said Christopher Leupold, who serves on the board of directors for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “The enhancement and development of the tactical division is key to the company's continued growth and success, and Leupold & Stevens brings a unique and diverse set of capabilities to the tactical optics sphere.”

Leupold® President Tom Fruechtel added, “I am privileged to be part of Leupold's commitment to America's warfighters. In launching the new Tactical Optics Division, we've added new overall leadership, expertise in engineering, product development and service at all levels. Best of all, we are focused on the many needs of our troops and we are dedicated to providing them with innovative, effective products. As an American family-owned, century-old company, we believe it is our duty to support them as much as they support us.”

The new division is led by Kevin Trepa, vice president of tactical sales and marketing. A former Marine Corps infantry officer, Trepa manages a staff that includes 10-year Leupold employee Moe Bierig, a registered professional engineer; and Ray Brock, who has more than 20 years of project management experience.

The Tactical Optics Division is based at Leupold headquarters in Oregon. An East Coast sales office, managed by Chris O'Connor, was recently established in Virginia. Trepa commented: “Building on Leupold's long heritage in the shooting sports and relying on our 600-employee Oregon-based manufacturing capability, the Tactical Optics Division will enhance the company's ability to respond rapidly to battlefield requirements and product service needs anywhere in the world.”
