LEKI has hired Gottfried Kuermer as nordic walking program director. Kuermer is an original Master Trainer from the
International Nordic Walking Association‹one of only 42 worldwide. Kuermer will play a key role in training and certifying LEKI sales representatives and retailers as basic nordic walking instructors.

“Gottfried Kuermer's fitness training background and expertise in nordic
walking makes him uniquely qualified to direct LEKI¹s efforts in
developing
nordic walking programming and products,” said Greg Wozer, vice
president of
LEKI. “He will be a fantastic addition to the LEKI family because his
enthusiasm towards Nordic Walking as an overall fitness training
activity is
infectious.”

Kuermer¹s responsibilities will include product development and sales
training. He will also conduct basic instructor certification seminars
on
behalf of LEKI across the United States.

“I see the logic and the need for an adjustable pole in the Nordic
Walking
sport,” said Kuermer. “LEKI is the only company with an adjustable pole
and
advanced grip and strap technology which benefits individuals and
trainers
as well as spas, clubs and organizations.”
“I look forward to working with LEKI as we continue to develop
adjustable
pole technology,” he added.

Kuermer lives in Austria where he serves as a director for the Austrian
Nordic Walking Association. He will spend a considerable amount of time
in
the United States throughout 2004 to conduct instructor certification
clinics and participate in retail promotional events.
