Leatherman Tool Group launched Leatherman Exchange, a peer-to-peer re-commerce marketplace for buying and selling used Leatherman products. The company reported in a media release that the new platform enables Leatherman “to become the first major multi-tool or knife brand to join the circular economy movement.”
“For over 40 years, we’ve built tools meant to last and to be passed on,” said Kevin Gleason, VP of Marketing at Leatherman. “The Leatherman Exchange brings this philosophy to life, giving every tool a longer life and a new story, while reducing waste and opening the door to quality craftsmanship for more people.”
Sellers can list eligible Leatherman tools on the Exchange, where buyers can search a curated collection from verified sellers nationwide. When a product sells, the seller receives a prepaid shipping label to send the product to the buyer. All Leatherman products listed on the Exchange are backed by Leatherman.
The tool’s original warranty is transferred to its new owner, and Leatherman Insiders see their transferred warranty extended from 25 years to 40 years. All warranty claims are still processed through the standard Leatherman Warranty Center.
