LeBron James is close to signing a new agreement with Nike, Inc., according to a report in the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I dont plan on going anywhere, maybe I already have a[n] agreement,” James said. “I take care of my business on and off the court.”

In 2010, questions extend beyond the agreement with Nike, into whether or not James will be suiting up for another team next season. At present, James original seven-year contract with Nike, which paid him in excess of $100 million with bonuses, is set to expire in the next few months.

That being said, questions are flaring as to LeBron James next move. Highly-touted in 2003 as the next Michael Jordan, the Cleveland Cavaliers small forward/pop culture icon is entering his free agent year, and will be the most sought-after in a strong free-agent class.

In a move that caught many off guard, James is also planning on changing his number from 6 to 23 next year in honor of Michael Jordan. The impact of the move is yet to be known, but certainly the impact on jersey sales will be profound.
