La Sportiva N.A. announced the launch of its Giving Greenback$ campaign rolling out this week with 37 participating retailers around the United States.

For each pair of La Sportiva Hiking, Mountain Running® and Approach shoes sold at participating Greenback$ dealers, La Sportiva will donate a $1 to one of three charitable organizations: the Carbonfund.org, the Conservation Alliance and Global Water.

“The success of last year’s inaugural Greenback$ campaign is best supported through our new partners for this year, growing Greenback$ participating retailers nearly 50% for 2010.”  Laura Fryer, La Sportiva N.A.’s Marketing Manager, continues “We designed Greenback$ to be a turn key initiative for our partners, helping retailers stand out from their competition, grow their business and spur their consumer base to play a part in positive change, one dollar at a time.”

La Sportiva is supporting this week’s launch with in-shop retail Greenback$ clinics, shelf talkers, an eco-friendly array of marketing collateral and a designated website (www.givinggreenbacks.com) providing information about the program. As an added incentive for the program, La Sportiva will be presenting awards in August to the shop and shop employee who donates the most dollars through the sale of La Sportiva Hiking, Mountain Running® and Approach shoes.
