LA Fitness has opened its 200th Pilates by LA Fitness studio, arriving approximately 2½ years after the concept launched.
The program offers Reformer Pilates using Balanced Body equipment within existing LA Fitness clubs. Classes combine contemporary Pilates with athletic and functional movement, targeting strength, mobility, balance and flexibility. The company says the model is designed to differentiate itself from standalone Pilates studios by pairing a boutique Reformer experience with access to the broader amenities of an LA Fitness club.
“We’ve created a lot of excitement in our clubs by adding 200 Pilates by LA Fitness studios. It’s been rewarding to see the incredible response from our members,” said Jill Hill, president of club operations at Fitness International, the parent of LA Fitness. “Our goal was to offer a welcoming Pilates experience that delivers real results and still keep the other fitness and recovery options convenient.”
Fitness International operates 600-plus clubs in 25 U.S. states and Canada under the LA Fitness, Club Studio, and City Sports Club names.
