L.L.Bean plans to open its first store in Georgia at Lulah Hills, a new mixed-use property under development in Decatur. The opening was announced by Edens, the developer.
The store will occupy a 15,000-square-foot new building on Lulah Avenue and Oak Tree Road. Other retail brands with plans to open in the complex include Publix, Anthropologie, Design Within Reach, and Herman Miller.
No date was announced for when the L.L.Bean store would open.
Lulah Hills, a 78-acre mixed-use development, is being built at the site of the former North DeKalb Mall. Demolition began in 2024. Edens said that “Phase I” of the project is set to finish in 2027, with a first wave of retail opening at that time.
In December 2025, L.L.Bean announced plans to open eight stores in 2026, including its first locations in Alabama and Tennessee. At the time, the retailer also said it intends to add eight to 10 storefronts in 2027, including new markets in the Midwest and Southeast.
At the close of 2025, L.L.Bean operated 68 stores in 19 states in the U.S., along with 18 stores in Japan and 16 stores in Canada, in partnership with Jaytex Group.
