Kohl's Department Stores has outlined key initiatives of its strategic objective to realign its merchandise executive team.

“As our business continues to grow, we are taking the opportunity to add additional talent and to optimize our merchandising structure. Specifically, we are dedicating more resources to provide additional focus on both branded and private brand merchandise categories,” said Kohl's President Kevin Mansell.

The company outlined two key initiatives to support the strategic objective.

The company will move from two to three executive vice presidents-general merchandise managers, effective immediately. In addition, it has engaged in a search for an executive vice president-product development, a newly created position. While the Company continues to expect private brands to comprise approximately 20 to 25 percent of the business, this new position will provide enhanced oversight to all private brand product development.

The three executive vice presidents-general merchandise managers are as follows:

  • David J. Campisi, 45, has been appointed executive vice president-general merchandise manager Women's Apparel and Accessories. Campisi joins Kohl's after eight years at Fred Meyer, a multi-department retailer, which is a division of Kroger Co. At Fred Meyer, he was senior vice president-Apparel and Home. Campisi has more than 25 years of broad retail experience including 12 years in progressive merchandising positions at Meier & Frank, a division of May Department Stores.
  • Donald A. Brennan, 43, has been appointed executive vice president-general merchandise manager, Men's and Children's. Brennan was previously executive vice president-merchandise planning and allocation, since joining the company in 2001. Prior to joining Kohl's, Brennan was the senior vice president-general merchandise manager of Men's and Children's Apparel at Burdines, a division of Federated Department Stores.

  • Jack Moore, 49, continues as executive vice president-general merchandise manager overseeing Home and Footwear. Prior to joining Kohl's in 1997, Moore served in a variety of merchandising positions with Target Corporation for nearly 20 years.

Further, the company has been engaged in a search for the executive vice president-merchandise planning allocation position vacated by Brennan's appointment to executive vice president-general merchandise manager.

All of these positions will report to Kevin Mansell.

“Moving forward, I am confident that our deep pool of merchandising talent, coupled with this realignment, positions us well for the future and continues to deliver on our core strategy of brands, value and convenience,” added Mansell.
