Based on sales at the National Basketball Association’s New York store and on the Internet, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant's jersey is again the most popular among fans. Bryant’s No. 24 jersey has been the top seller since the start of the 2008-09 season, supplanting Kevin Garnett’s No. 5 Boston Celtics jersey, the NBA said in a news release.

Garnett’s jersey was the top seller last season, when Bryant’s fell to second after leading sales in 2006-07.

The player with the third most popular jersey was the Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James, followed by New Orleans Hornets’ Chris
Paul and the Detroit Pistons’ Allen Iverson, who was traded from Denver
at the start of the season. The Lakers’ Pau Gasol was sixth, followed by Boston’s Paul Pierce, the
Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade, rookie Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls and
the New York Knicks’ Nate Robinson.

Among teams, The Lakers have the most popular overall team merchandise
this season, followed by the Celtics, Knicks, Cavaliers and Bulls.

The NBA said December was the best sales month in history at the league’s Manhattan store and on NBAStore.com, with combined sales up 10% versus the year-ago month.
