Kamik, a division of Genfoot Inc., appointed Michel Benoit as its chief marketing officer.

In his role, Benoit will oversee product development, sales and marketing initiatives from Kamik’s Montreal office.

“Michel has a proven track record of successful brand repositioning and extensive knowledge of the outdoor and sporting goods market,” said Richard Cook, CEO, Kamik. “We are excited for him to join our team and look forward to the new perspective he will bring to the Kamik brand.”

Brand management is familiar territory to Benoit, who has been a leader in the consumer goods industry for the past three decades. Benoit comes to Kamik from Boulart, makers of artisan bread, where he held the title of vice president of global sales and business development since 2011. Prior to his role at Boulart, Benoit was vice president and general manager of Reebok-CCM Hockey, where he was responsible for growth and global market development of the $100 million hockey brand. Benoit’s past experience also includes vice president of global marketing and product creation at Bauer/Nike Hockey, as well as director of international product communication at Salomon S.A.

“I look forward to using my experience in the outdoor and sporting goods industry to further boost sales and foster growth of the Kamik brand,” said Benoit. “This is a pivotal time for Kamik, as it will be launching numerous innovative products in 2014. I’m proud to be a part of the Kamik team during this exciting time in the company’s history.”

Benoit will join Kamik for the unveiling of its winter 2014 line, including the anticipated Elements Collection (the first and lightest line of three-season neoprene boots for men and kids) at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market on January 22-25, 2014 in Salt Lake City, UT.
