Joe’s Sports & Outdoor will host a grand opening celebration at its new store in Renton, Washington, on Thursday, August 28. The store is located at 915 N. Landing Way, close to Fry’s and Target. Joe’s currently has 30 locations throughout the Pacific Northwest.


“Were excited to bring our unique combination of brand name merchandise, low prices, selection and excellent service to customers in Renton,” said Hal Smith, Joe’s Sports & Outdoor president and CEO. “This new store showcases our various departments and elite service shops. Sports and outdoor enthusiasts of all abilities will be able to find what they need quickly and easily, at great savings theyre sure to appreciate. I encourage everyone to come in early for the ribbon-cutting on Thursday, as there are some especially hot buys available from 7:00am to 11:00am.”

 

The public is invited to join Joe’s Sports & Outdoor employees and managers, along with Renton mayor Dennis Law, at the ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 6:50am. Gift cards worth between $5 and $500 will be given to the first 500 customers through the door. The Joe’s Sports & Outdoor Foundation will award $2,000 grants to each of the Renton high school athletic programs: Hazen High School, Renton High School and Lindbergh High School. There will also be manufacturer’s representatives on hand, product demonstrations, plus other activities throughout the weekend.

 

Lori Bennett, manager of the Renton store, said, “Im glad were opening just in time for back-to-school, or back-to-sports as we like to call it. This store has everything for football, basketball, soccer and more. And at our service shops you can have your bike tuned up or repaired, rent skis and snowboards, or have a vehicle roof rack installed by skilled technicians. It’s a great new resource for active people in the community.”

Revenues for this fiscal year are expected to exceed $290 million.
