Two boutique PR agencies, JAM Media Collective of San Francisco and LWA PR of Portland, Oregon, announced a joint partnership to offer their clients product placement, entertainment marketing, corporate and internal communications services.

JAM Media Collective and LWA PR said they are are beginning their joint partnership by representing New Zealand merino apparel pioneer Icebreaker in its product and story placement in the United States and Canada. Both companies will attend the Outdoor Retailer tradeshow, beginning Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Julie Atherton, a Bay Area native who began working in marketing and public relations after graduating from UC Davis, founded JAM Media Collective in 1995. LWA PR develops communications strategies, including corporate and internal communications programs, public affairs and issues management services. The company currently manages Icebreaker's global communications strategy. Current and recent clients include Nike, Portland Farmers Market, the Apollo Group, Horizon Wind Energy, Facebook, Country Natural Beef and Hot Lips Pizza.

Atherton's long career in brand development includes a variety of successful and unique companies. Prior to forming JAM, Atherton started a creative agency that worked with companies such as Oral-B, Old Navy, Levi Strauss and Richey Bikes. She has also worked in marketing for The North Face, Sierra Designs and Head Skiwear.

Weinstein directed communications at NIKE, Inc. for 15 years, including US consumer product and global employee and corporate responsibility communications, before founding LWA PR in 2007. The company has 11 associates, including PR and public affairs strategists, writers and graphic designers. He serves on the board of trustees of Maryhill Museum and the board of directors of the Oregon Cultural Trust.
