Jack Wolfskin and the Double J Fashion Group Inc. (Montreal, Quebec) have agreed a sales partnership for the Canadian market. From Spring/Summer 2012, Jack Wolfskin products will be available on the Canadian market once more. The contract has been agreed for an initial term of five years.

Canada is not just a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, it is also a key market for many manufacturers. Products that have withstood the Canadian wilderness are seen as having a seal of excellence. Consequently, it makes sense that Jack Wolfskin is planning its next international expansion in Canada, where it will offer the same range of products as in its other markets.

“Our aim is to work with our sales partner to establish the Jack Wolfskin brand in the Canadian market,” explained Markus Boetsch, CSO of Jack Wolfskin. “Double J Fashion Group is an ideal sales partner with many years' experience in outdoor retail and a tried-and-tested network of retail contacts.”

Over the next few years, the distribution of Jack Wolfskin products is to be carried out primarily via retail partners. Double J, however, has plans of opening Jack Wolfskin franchise stores across Canada as well. In the next 3 years, 100 points of sale (POS) are to be established in the high-quality outdoor retail trade.

Jack Wolfskin is the leading provider of functional outdoor clothing, footwear and equipment in Europe and the largest franchisor in the German specialist sports retail market. Jack Wolfskin products are currently available in more than 400 franchise stores and at 4,000 points of sale across Europe and Asia.

In the 2009 calendar year, the Company recorded sales revenues of €304.2 million in Europe, up 21 percent on the previous year. Jack Wolfskin GmbH & Co. KGaA is headquartered in Idstein im Taunus and employs more than 460 people. The company was acquired last month by Blackstone Group.
